As the Sports Director of Towerrunning USA, I couldn't be more pleased to share the news that the 4th Annual Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb, held in the iconic One World Observatory at One World Trade Center, is now accepting registrations for the 2018 Stair Climb event.
This year’s Tower Climb will be held on Sunday, June 3rd.
As you know, many members of Towerrunning USA have participated in the Tower Climb in the three years since it began and they all say how challenging and meaningful the experience was. They described how privileged they felt to be able to climb to the top of One World Trade Center in victory--a feat which, sadly, first responders were unable to do on September 11, 2001.
I'm also very happy to announce that this year when we cross the Finish Line on the 102nd floor, not only will a breathtaking view await us, but $2000 in prize money will be awarded--$1000 each to the fastest female climber and the fastest male climber.
And while I am sharing great news with you , I am pleased to announce that once again we will be joined in our race to the top by world class elite climbers from the International Skyrunners Association.
Needless to say, I look forward to seeing you at the Tower Climb. Funds raised will go the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, begun in memory of a fallen 9/11 firefighter. Tunnel to Towers will then put the money raised towards building high-tech “smart homes” for catastrophically injured service members.
